Problem Solving Stage
It is beyond the scope of this outline to delve into all of the components of this stage. Suffice it to say, after the ground rules are mutually agreed upon, each party will be given an opportunity to share his or her side of the story. Differences of opinion will be aired. All factors viewed as contributing to the problem will be open for discussion. From seemingly irreconcilable positions, Dr. Newberger will assist the parties, individually and jointly, to address the underlying causes to their conflict and explore mutually acceptable solutions.

Resolution / Reconciliation
At the end of the process, agreements on the issues that caused division are typically reached. In some settings, a Memorandum of Agreement is created. This document captures the agreements of the parties regarding past issues and lays a foundation for the future.
With the obstacles to the relationship removed, the parties are now in an excellent position to rebuild their marriage, friendship, business association, etc. If there is a mutual desire, they can actually rebuild their relationship to levels of connectedness and trust perhaps never experienced before. Dr. Newberger will guide the parties toward this end.
Follow-up sessions will be scheduled as needed to further assist in implementation of the agreements or resolve any new issues that may arise which could jeopardize the good work that has been accomplished thus far.
